Do you have a project? Would you like to tell us something about it?

I have started a consultancy services project on sustainability address to restaurants and bars with a future extend to supermarkets.
This idea started in my mind as I realised I didn’t want to work just to get money I wanted to do something with a meaning, while I was impacted with the numbers around food waste.

Over a third of all food produced in the world ends up in a trash, even if it is in a good condition

Meanwhile 1 in every 6 people on Earth don’t get enough food to live a healthy life, and not mentioning the impact on the environment as this means that 3.3 billion tons of greenhouse gases are released into the atmosphere for no reason.

The frame work considered in my consultancy proposal includes three main pillars: Product (ecological products: seasonal, KM0, organic), Planet (food waste reduction, water and energy reduction, sustainable architecture and logistics) and People: (treat employees fairly, support community, communication).

Apart from my own project I am also working with Barcelona Sustainable Restaurants Association.

Where are you from and how long have you been in Barcelona?

I am from Colombia, I lived 8 years in Sweden and I moved from Sweden to Barcelona 2 years and a half ago.

Why did you choose MOB?

I chose MOB because I feel very welcome when I get here, I like the spaces and the atmosphere.

What kind of “salsa” defines you?

Life, that is what defines me. What life brings every day is what makes me better and I try to take advantage of that looking at things always in a positive way.

What did you want to be as a child?

I wanted to be a doctor to save all the children in the world that were dying from hunger … I didn’t manage to get there, not even close.
