“Most coworkings expect members to adapt to them. Our challenge is the opposite, adapting to our members.”

Behind every coworking space that truly feels alive, there’s someone quietly making sure everything flows. At MOB Sants, that person is Carles Tisaire: the Space Manager. He is also Marketing lead at MOB and Managing Partner at CST.

Carles plays a key role in the daily life of MOB, balancing operations, systems, and human connection. From aligning workflows across locations to shaping the member experience, his work sits right at the intersection of structure and spontaneity.

What do you do as a Space Manager?

I manage the day-to-day operations at MOB Sants, making sure everything runs smoothly both physically and behind the scenes. That includes aligning systems across the three spaces so we can all share information and stay connected.

There’s also a mix of operations, member experience, and some marketing work. But at the core, it’s about making sure the space works for people.

What’s the best and the most challenging part of your job?

The best part is the constant exposure to people. You’re in contact with members all the time, different industries, mindsets, ways of working. That’s incredibly enriching.

The most challenging part is making sure we bring real value to everyone. Every member is different, so the challenge is adapting, listening, and making sure each person feels supported.

What’s a common misconception about managing a coworking space?

That coworking is just about square meters, a place where you come, work, and leave.

In reality, it’s much more human than that. It’s about understanding people’s needs, motivations, and challenges. You build that slowly, with care, one conversation at a time. Listening is everything. And you need to stay self-critical and open to constant learning.

What does a typical day look like for you?

Mornings start with a general check, making sure everything is in place. Then coffee for the community. That’s an important moment.

At MOB Sants especially, mornings are very social. People arrive, sit down, grab a coffee, and we talk about work, life, whatever’s going on. The door is always open for people to share what they need.

After that, it’s operational mode: preparing spaces, solving issues, keeping a 360º view of what’s happening, and making sure everything is ready for the next day.

What makes Barcelona a great city for coworking?

Its international energy and creativity. Barcelona is becoming a global hub for creation and freedom. There’s this feeling that you can reinvent yourself here, that you can become whoever you want to be.

What advice would you give your younger self starting this path?

Tranquility and consistency. Do things well, be patient, and stay constant.

Is there a project at MOB you’re especially proud of?

We’ve worked hard on creating more direct communication channels with members. Things like ticket systems for fast issue resolution, ongoing surveys, and initiatives like “Coffee With”, where members can book time with a Space Manager and talk about anything.

The goal is simple: listen better, stay human, and keep improving through feedback.

Why MOB?

Most coworkings expect members to adapt to them. Our challenge is the opposite, adapting to our members. We want to amplify the sense of closeness and familiarity that defines MOB. That human layer is what makes the difference.
