On the 22nd and 23rd of October, Espai Fusió will take place and we invite you to be part of the first phygital market in Barcelona!
After four editions of the famous illustrators market WeDraw (our illustrators market that featured more than 30 illustrators and welcomed more than 3,000 visitors in its first edition alone), we continue with the aim of supporting the ecosystem of artists in Barcelona. This time, we are renewing the image of the event with a similar but slightly different concept: Espai Fusió celebrates the current post-pandemic context where diversity is the protagonist, and ‘analogue’ art coexists with new technologies. The event, supported by Barcelona City Council and with free admission opens its doors on the 22 and 23 October from 12pm to 7pm at MOB Bailén (Carrer de Bailén 11, Eixample).
A weekend to get to know local artists
Visual arts, photography, illustration, and ceramics, will be the protagonists of Espai Fusió which invites artists and attendees to get inspired, sell their creations or buy art, learn about the work of a diverse range of local artists and enjoy the day with music by guest DJs. Plus, delicious food and drink will be served by the speciality coffee shop Café Fosc.
My work explores the representation of the human being as (individual, subject) and how it develops within the current social context. One of the main objectives of my work is seeing how it merges with the surroundings, and how it continues to change and adapt to what it feels around. – Nuria Gonzáles Alcaide
Communicating with sensitivity, searching for the essence through simple forms. The fruit of contemplation, reflection and a continuous feeling and communicating more in drawings than in words. – Franka Parrello
NFT and phygital experience
So you might wonder, why is it a ‘phygital’ market? The answer is that Espai Fusió will be the venue for the launch of a never-before-seen AR (Augmented Reality) and NFTs experience by the startup eXplorins, creators of several interactive experiences such as Pelai Gallery-Barcelona’s first offline digital art gallery. Attendees will be able to choose to buy the artists’ works in the NFT version, which in turn will be connected to the 3D printer of FabCafe‘s fabrication space (located in the same venue), for those who want to take home the work in a physical version made on the spot 😉
Making innovation accessible
Since 2010 it is in the DNA of MOB – Makers of Barcelona to support the creative industry in its home city, reinforcing its essence of being more than just a coworking, but also a space where ideas are realised, innovation is accessible and growth opportunities are offered to the community.
See the event on Eventbrite here! And don’t miss any of our events 🙂
